Olaf Bisschoff
Landscape from a Dream (Paul Nash, 1938)(abstract, geometric)
Description
Olaf Bisschoff primarily works in oil paints. However, he also explores media such as sculpture, printmaking, drawing and animation. He is an abstract artist who is very much interested in playing with geometric shapes, colours, forms, and lines. Bisschoff often appropriates famous artwork titles for his paintings, a nod to his sense of humour and a commentary on modern life. He has exhibited in South Africa and abroad, including in Sweden, The Netherlands, and Taiwan.
"There is no such thing as abstract art, or else all art is abstract, which amounts to the same thing. Abstract art no more exists than does curved art yellow art or green art. - Jean Dubuffet "
